Dear Brothers, Sisters, and Kin,

We are sad to report that former Local 118 member Rudi Wouda passed away on April 13, 2022.

Rudi was a member of Local 118’s Wardrobe Roster for many years.  After his retirement, he continued to be a welcome visitor to the QET Crew Room, as he always had an amusing story to tell, and a smile on his face.

Rudi was the epitome of the words ‘kind’ and ‘gentle’, and his co-workers and performers loved him.  He was also fiercely independent and self-reliant, and dealt with various issues and health problems with strength and grace.

Rudi was diagnosed with ALS in March of this year, and this dreadful disease progressed rapidly.  In the best theatrical fashion, Rudi chose to ‘exit stage left’ on his own terms this past Wednesday with a medically-assisted death, surrounded by the love and caring of family and close friends.

Proud Rudi, your IATSE friends and colleagues will miss you, but we will never forget you!
