In Memoriam
Maurice Woods
October 21st, 2011
WOODS, Maurice P. It is with great sadness to announce that Maurice passed away October 21, 2011. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Dolores. His cheerful demeanor, lack of pretense and his humility endeared him to many. Maurice was a kind and considerate man, always putting the other person first and helping out whenever he could. Born in Paynton, Saskatchewan in 1923, he and his family moved to Vancouver where as a young man he found work with Theater Under the Stars, then as a carpenter building stage sets with CBC. In 1955, he joined the I.A.T.S.E. Union Local 118 and completed 50 years, working at the Orpheum, Q.E., Vancouver Playhouse and other theater venues, where he met and enjoyed talking to many performers from around the world. Maurice is survived by his brother Ernest (Margaret), 6 children, John (Jane), Patricia (Michael), Barbara, Kathleen, Rosemary (Stan), Daniel (Connie) and 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his 7 step-children Brian (Arlene), David, Cheryl (Dennis), Steven (Isabella), Marcia, Julia (Steve) and Laura, his 9 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. May God bless and keep you, Maurice.
