JOHN ROSS BEATTY 1955-2017 It is with great sadness that we announce John's passing after a short illness. A wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend has gone on to join his Dad, Ross, his Mom, Thelma and sister, Alison. Survived by his sister Elizabeth(Russ), niece Katie(Frank, Ava, Leo), nephew Andrew (Jesse) and brother-in-law Peter all of whom loved him dearly. John was a talented technical stage hand who worked for over thirty years as part of the IATSE Union and served several terms on the union executive . He spent many years travelling with shows in the US and Canada and in the past several years has devoted his skills to the QE theatre and the Orpheum. He was the production electrician for the Vancouver Opera. He loved to read, especially history and spent many holidays exploring England and Western Europe. John was totally dedicated to his family and diligently supported his Mom in her senior years. He often took his vacations in Clearwater at his sister's farm where he provided invaluable help. He had many good friends in Vancouver who will miss his thoughtful, generous and considerate nature. John was one of those good people who made the world better in numerous tiny ways everyday and he did that to the max! Donations in his memory would be appreciated to the Salvation Army or the SPCA. A gathering for his friends will be held in January in Vancounver and there will be a private family service in April.
